Our International Business Development Director Sarah Longstaff attended the UKTI Latin America Ports Event on Tuesday 14th May. The event was a great success and highlighted new opportunities in a range of sectors related to the development of key Latin American ports, in particular, the expansion of the Panama Canal.
Most of the Latin American countries such as Mexico, Chile and Panama are currently experiencing growth rates at least three times that of the UK, however, the UK exports fewer goods to these regions than we do to Scandinavia!
According to the World Bank’s rank of countries by ease of doing business, Chile is ranked 34th, ahead of popular export destinations China (91st) and India (132nd), so there has never been a better time to export to Latin America.
