What does membership really mean for you?

  • General News
  • 27th March 2016

As a leading Institute in supply chain qualifications, we find that individuals will gladly enroll onto a qualification or training course without question; yet when it comes to membership we often find people asking “why should I become a member?”, “What’s in it for me?” and “How will it benefit my career?”

All valid questions. At the end of a qualification or training course there is typically a tangible object gained by the individual – a certificate can be framed and hung with pride and proof that they have invested in themselves and their career.

After speaking with many professionals looking to enhance their career prospects it seems that whilst the word membership is banded about as a way to increase opportunities, very few organisations actually fulfill the benefits expected of such a status.

Aside from the letters neatly displayed after your name, what does membership really offer? Or more to the point what SHOULD it offer?

Support. Advice. Guidance. Knowledge. Value.

The list goes on…

Becoming a member of the Institute of Supply Chain Management provides individuals looking to begin their supply chain career, professionals already working in the industry and organisations with supply chain operations with exclusive access to a range of services to support professional development and promote high standards across all sectors of supply chain management.

We offer membership at varying levels and award these levels based on specific criteria including experience and expertise to assert your status within the supply chain sector.  With the key objective of adding value, an IoSCM membership comes with:
