A group of 20 Cumbrian mothers have braved the elements to ‘bare all’ in a calendar to raise vital funds for a seven year old boy.

Three of the images are being displayed on Eddie Stobart lorries, which will be driving up and down the country raising awareness of a rare condition.

Seven year old, Jaxon Currie from Carlisle has been diagnosed with a Hypothalamic Hamartoma brain tumour which causes seizures, behavioural problems and outbursts of rage. It’s hoped that the funds raised will help set up a foundation for families in similar positions.

Jaxon’s mother, Jodie Currie said: ‘The timing of this has been great – it has been a good distraction through a very difficult time. All the women feel the strength and energy from this and we have already achieved great things.’

All of the women involved have children at the same school as Jaxon and have pulled together to ensure it went as smoothly as possible by helping each other will daily chores such as; school runs, meals and even bed times.  – It’s clear to see their determination.

Each image features Jaxon’s teddy as a reminder of the sole purpose of the calendar and were shot in some Cumbria’s most beautiful landscapes from Derwent Water to the Lake District. They also enforce strong values such as; a mother’s love, kindness and strength in the images – one mother is even seen cleaning whilst rock climbing!

Siobonne Brewster, 41 who features in the calendar explains its importance: ‘The idea behind the calendar was while trying to support the Currie family and raise funds to create beautiful memories for them, the images would tell a story…We want to celebrate what we have, grab life with both hands and cherish the beautiful world around us.’

So don’t be alarmed if you catch a glimpse of a 16ft woman in her underwear on the motorway, it’s all for a great a cause.
