In simple words, Brand Awareness is the likelihood that consumers will be able to identify the brand in different situations. If you have high brand awareness, people have your brand in mind and it’s easy for them to remember you.

Now that you know what is brand awareness, why should you focus on increasing it?

Scientific research shows that consumers will select a known brand among other choices 70% of the time, even though the other brands are superior. 82% of investors say name recognition is an important factor guiding them in their investment decisions.

One way to see the power of brand awareness is brand names that people use to call whole categories of products. A very practical example is Tupperware, a brand name people use to call any plastic container for food storage and preparation.

So, the first thing you can do to increase brand awareness is to partner with other brands. Brands partner up and create partnerships all the time. Some examples are:

It’s very beneficial to establish partnerships with other brands, by doing this you are leveraging their audience to build your audience. Many businesses have already invested time, energy, and money to find YOUR customer.

SEO is a very effective way to create long-term brand awareness, expand your target audience, and earn more revenue. Besides the time you need to improve your rankings, it doesn’t cost you anything like advertising.

5 – START A REFERRAL PROGRAM

Referrals are a powerful way to squeeze more out of your marketing. You’ve already invested the time, effort, energy, and money to get a Customer, why not take advantage of this?

And who’s the most likely person to know excellent potential Customers? Exactly, your current Customer.

People are much more up to following a recommendation from a friend than they would to any kind of brand advertising. If you have 10 consumers and ask them to share your product or service with 5 of their friends, suddenly you turned 10 consumers into 50 brand impressions.

You need to make referrals part of the relationship from Day 1. Don’t lose opportunities to plant the seed for them to start referring.

A good tip is to give your customers stories to tell about your products and services, so referrals will occur naturally. You can also offer things in exchange, such as discounts coupons in the next purchases.

6 – INVEST IN ADVERTISING

The last tip to increase brand awareness is through paid advertising. Paid marketing is beautiful because it’s so fast and measurable. With paid marketing, you can create a lead magnet in the morning, put up an ad in the afternoon, and wake up with a lot of new leads the next morning.

If you want to achieve results quickly, paid ads are your way to go.
