PRESS RELEASE: Available for immediate release
IoSCM is delighted to announce the launch of The Sustain Chain.
A new initiative to address the environmental and economic impact of industry on our planet, highlight ways to mitigate the damage and create a sustainable future.
Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, November 3rd; The Institue of Supply Chain Management (IoSCM) have today launched a brand new range of services to address the environmental concerns relating to the global supply chain and other industries.
The new initiative, titled The Sustain Chain, will enable businesses and individuals to achieve their sustainability objectives and ensure the corporate social responsibilities of their workplace are understood, met, and exceeded.
Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility are not 2020’ Buzzwords,’ they are significant concerns for businesses of all descriptions, and individuals who are tasked with addressing these topics in the workplace or who want to make a difference to the environment through their actions.
90% of large organisations or corporations formally (through policy) document Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.
A set of ethical principles by which a business will benchmark itself against, addressing important issues and topics such as ‘The Climate’ or ‘Slave Labor’, issues that if left unchallenged will never change.
For many businesses and individuals alike, there is still much work to be done. That is why we have created a Toolkit, an online professional qualification, accreditations, awards, and new publications to address and overcome the challenges faced by businesses, and support individuals who want to make improvements within their daily lives.
IoSCM Communications Manager, Kimberley Jayne said; “Sustainability is about much more than protecting the future of your business or workplace. It is about repairing and preserving the environment for future generations, securing stability within your organisation, and establishing new ways of working and living that are sustainable, responsible and kinder to the planet.
Businesses that are not concerned about their corporate social responsibilities need to understand it is no longer just about doing the right thing. They need to ensure their wider supply chains are operating in safe, responsible ways. Providing transparency and demonstratable results are key to attracting and retaining customers and protecting the reputation and future of your business.
The actions we have already taken are improving the lives of millions of people around the world as we eradicate modern slavery, unsafe working conditions and discrimination from the supply chain. By pooling resources, and working together, the longer-term outlook becomes very positive. Not just for business but for the environment.
IoSCM has collaborated with business leaders, sustainability specialists, and a collection of subject matter experts to create The Sustain Chain. We are delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with leading names to drive positive and substantial changes within the global supply chain landscape. The Sustain Chain is designed to help anyone and everyone!”.
2020 has forced many businesses to re-evaluate their business models, as the pandemic caused disruption and confusion. As we begin to map out our routes to recovery to take us back to pre-pandemic success, we need to ensure we not only build back but that we build back better!. The Sustain Chain can help us all to do exactly that.
To launch The Sustain Chain, we are providing FREE access to The Toolkit and magazine for non-members, as well as a discount on the Level 5 Award in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility for members of IoSCM. The awards and accreditations are open to both businesses and individuals.
